I turn 29

Thank you all friends (here & overseas) & family for your birthday wishes and gifts, and for the friends who had spent the day to celebrate it with me at the Old Swan Brewery. Photos taken today are posted HERE.

Belated B'day Dinner

was at Whiteman's Abroad, situated in historic Guildford. It is quite a dining experience - classic cuisine. The restaurant is actually inside an Edwardian home (c.1895) but is fully restored with formal dining rooms, with a relaxing verandah and a garden patio. But since it's late at night, we couldn't really see the garden. But it would be an ideal spot for a quiet breakfast. Every hour it seems the clock gives out a chime that's very pleasing to the ears. I had duck for entree, kangaroo steak for main, and apple/rubarb crumble. Oka had lamb rack for his main and coffee/biscuits for dessert. I also ordered "Bucks Fizz" - which is essentially champagne & orange mix. In the afternoon, I went to get my hair styled for the night out. Once in a while, it's nice to do something special like that.

I turn 28

a year wiser? Probably not. Here's proof:But this year's birthday cake is super-delicious - pear birthday cake. Oka's good at finding new cake flavor each year, I have to give it to him. Having your birthday fall on a weekday is a bummer. We are going to have dinner at Swan Valley this Saturday, I'm really looking forward to that. And our pillow-top mattress by Sleepmaker is getting delivered on Saturday. I can't wait to have a good night's sleep on it.

Turning 28

I couldn't bloody remember for a moment whether I was going to turn 28 next week or 29. For some reason, I already thought that I am 28. To be cynical of it all, I'll pretty much be spending it in month-end frenzy next week and clearing out emails from the 2 weeks off work. And I couldn't possibly think of spending it in a more meaningful way. When has a birthday become just another day?
