Looking forward to dinner...

We've made a reservation for dinner tomorrow night at Star Anise Restaurant. I've heard so many good reviews about the restaurant and it would be great to actually try it out. Yummm... Good food is the cure to a shitty week at work. .
This is their tasting menu (dining will actually take approximately 2 hours), which is what we will be having:
Mahor, seared scallops, caramelized duck, peanuts & pineapple

Steamed pemberton marron, asparagus, oyster mushrooms, silken tofu, yellow bean sauce

Crispy aromatic duck, stir-fried kai lan, sweet & sour mandarin sauce

Select cheese’s from simon Johnson
Lemon soufflé, lemon marscapone parfait
Tobys estate coffee & caramels

Wade rocks!

Woo hoo! They make my day. 1st NBA title. Sweet. The 3 Lakers championships still remain close to my heart but Dwayne Wade made this series far more thrilling than I have anticipated. He rocks!

Another thriller game

Another excellent NBA final game today and of course my Heat won, otherwise I would already be swearing away at the beginning of this post. :0 Lusi was here over the weekend and it was great catching up with her about random things from embarrassing past events to the ups and downs of our married lives. And in the near future, who knows we'll be exchanging stories about our kids. Damn, we're getting old as the big 30 looks to be just around the corner. I find it quite scary to go on friendster and to find your friends posting pictures of their kids already. We also ate a hell lot and that resulted in the gain of 1 kg around my waistline. And at night we watched drama series till my eyes were ready to give way to exhaustion. We also managed to host our 1st bbq at our backyard this year. The weather was great for bbq on Sunday, food was all good but fattening, though definitely worth it. Lusi's Korean-style marinated pork was simply yummm...

Check out our pictures here.

Celebration time!

Exams are over!!! Yayyyyy!
Going to pick Lusi up in a few hours' time. I envision a good long weekend ahead. Go Heats! The 2 teams right now I can't imagine being a fan of are Mavericks and Suns. Sorry, but they just don't appeal to me. Oh, and of course cricket too. Hee.

Work sux but dvds are great

I had a horrid day today at work... many things that ticked me off (refer to my comments on 6/6/06). But I shall not let it ruin my weekend. To hell with it. On something more light hearted, I receive some dvds from a friend in Taiwan who downloads on average 3gb a day. :) Excellent quality man, I will be spending the rest of tomorrow watching them. I shall attempt to start studying on Sunday. Happy weekend!

It's Friday, I'm happy

I can't believe it, the long awaited Friday is here. I left work at 5pm SHARP today to have dinner with Oka at a decent time (i.e., the time when a normal person with a life outside of work would eat). I can't remember the last time I feel so happy to go grocery shopping. I bought a hell lot of stuff, mostly junk food and it feels good. Working on weekend really takes your life away. I am just glad to be home now. Ah, the luxury of leaving at 5pm. I just don't see how I am going to continue working like this for the many years ahead until the day I retire. Oh well, forget about work for now. I sure am looking forward to next week, what with Lusi coming over to visit and being able to stay home the whole week to do absolutely nothing!!!

We've got a renter!

After 2 weeks of wait, it seems we've finally got tenants into our rental ppty. They will be signing the lease tomorrow at 10am. Hopefully it will all work out... hopefully there won't be a no-show. I'm keeping my fingers crossed now. And if it all works out, woo hoo! Let's go out and celebrate! :)
On a more gloomy subject, it's 6:10pm and I'm still in the damn office. What's wrong? There should be more work/life balance.

I didn't win the lotto but the Heat makes my day

The Wade/Shaq combo eliminated the Pistons to advance to the finals and it sure made my day a hell lot better, though most of the day was spent in the F***g office. Imagine if they had lost, it would have made today a totally sucks ass day, since my dream of striking the $27 million lotto was once again crushed. Nat would at this point tell me to have a more realistic dream. But there's always the "what ifs" man. Hee. :)

Work's a bitch when...

it's the long weekend but you still need to show up at the office on all three days!

the only reason for working is for the $ and no other motivator.

yes, both of that applies to me.

I'm having a shit week, clocking more hours than ever per week and I'm not loving it at all. God help me!!!

I need shopping, good food, and to strike the $27 million lottery!!!
