trying too hard to be someone you are not... and worse still trying to make everyone around you put up a stage for you so that you can be portrayed as someone you are not.
stinking hot summer weather like today's. high 30's, very dry, and oven-like. Summer flies sticking to your skin once you step out of the house.

Distasteful is...asking for help from someone you've been ignoring, and not even having the manners to thank them after you've gotten what you wanted.
Some people really should have been brought up better. But I console myself by thinking that what comes around, goes around.
