It's been one hell of a trip...

I checked out MOS finally! Yes, I know it's been around a while now and the hype is probably over but hey for someone who lives in the land of abundant space but absolute boredom, it's pretty damn cool. I'm very sure there is a night scene in Perth of which we are not apart of since we've got no friends there (yeah, no life!). We ended up dancing in the retro room and after talking to Nat this morning, it seems I should have been hanging in the Pure room. Damn... :( But it's ok, it's all kewl. There's always next time. All in all, retro's quite good too... "Daddy who?!?" hahaha (inside joke).
Trips to Singapore never fail to be interesting. The shopping & the eating of course is extraordinary. And getting to spend time and catch up with your direct family is great as well. I really yearn for the days where I can finally get to see them at least once a week over dinner. I realize I'm missing out so much, my nephews are all grown up now and I feel I have missed out on their developments (though I'm only their aunt). Having a social support network also helps. You don't have to come home after a shitty day at work and when you feel you need someone to go have a couple of drinks or to drink kopi or to eat ice cream with, you realize that they are all not in the same country as you are. I know Oka's always there for me but it's a different support network that can be kinda nice as well. Speaking of ice cream, there are definitely interesting local flavors here like chendol, durian, or teh tarik (this I love!) Yes, I'm all into the local flavors these days, back to my Asian roots perhaps. Just sitting outside island creamery the other night at Serene Centre reminisicing the old days when Mcdonalds used to be the major hangout for students around that area. And I was told I used to be one of those spoilt brats/Bukit Timah kids. Hahaha. Yeah, that's how long the friendship has been. 12 yrs? Yup, getting old.
I guess I can still go on but I shall not make myself feel worse about leaving tomorrow evening. The minute the plane touched down here last Saturday, I knew I was home. It will be another 6 more months of painful endurance before I'm back again. And hopefully very soon, I will be here permanently!
